The ETH Zurich Scholarship 2024-2025 is a fully funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is only offered for master's studies and provides a grant covering living and study expenses (CHF 11,000 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver.

Two types of scholarships are offered: the Excellence Scholarship and Opportunities Program (ESOP) and the ETH-D Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to bright domestic and international students. The prerequisite is a very good result in your Bachelor's degree (top 10% of the Bachelor's program = A grade).

Who can participate?:

Latin American students are eligible for scholarships offered by ETH Zurich in Switzerland.

Scholarship endowment:

The Excellence Scholarship consists of a grant covering living and study expenses (CHF 12,000 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver.

The ETH-D scholarship consists of a partial stipend for living and study expenses (CHF 7,500 per semester) as well as a tuition fee waiver. In addition, the department will provide a scholarship of CHF 3,000 per semester or offer an assistance (with a payment of CHF 500 to 600 per month).

The Excellence and ETH-D scholarships begin with the master's program and are awarded for the regular duration of the master's program (three or four semesters).

Conditions that participants must meet:

  • The scholarship programs are open to excellent students from both ETH and other universities (national and international) who wish to pursue their master's degree at ETH Zurich.
  • Prerequisites are very good results in your bachelor's degree (top 10% of bachelor's program = grade A)

Instructions to apply:

  • ESOP and ETH-​D scholarship applications are provided through eApply (online master's application).
  • If you are applying for more than one master's program, please submit a separate application form for each program.
  • In addition to the documents for admission to the Master's degree, you must upload a previous proposal for your master's thesis. See specifications here. The master's thesis preproposal should be developed by yourself and use established scientific citation practice. Plagiarism, negligent or intentional misinformation will lead to exclusion from the admission process or, if discovered later, revocation of admission and any scholarship.
