Studying in Spain?

Whether you are pursuing a college degree, graduate school, or simply want to take a Spanish course or learn to tango, Spain should definitely be on your list of study abroad destinations.

In recent years, following the Spanish economic crisis of 2001, Spain has become a popular destination for students to study abroad.

I believe there are two main reasons for this trend: firstly, the low cost of living in terms of tuition fees and accommodation; and secondly, the high academic standards. On top of that, you can enjoy all the exciting activities that a big city like Madrid can offer. It is the perfect place for young people who are hungry for knowledge, social activities and cultural enrichment.

Many students also have the opportunity to visit other exciting places in Spain, such as the Iguazu Falls in Misiones, the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia, and the ski slopes in Bariloche.

Scholarships are a valuable way to enhance your professional resume, and this form of financial aid can open new doors for you. There are many types of scholarships. Some scholarships are designed to fund your studies. Some scholarships fund research activities for doctoral students, others offer internships at companies, and still others fund study abroad.

More recently, universities have discovered the advantages of postgraduate programs and summer schools, which now offer a wide range of courses covering all fields of knowledge, from classic MBA programs to more discipline-specific courses. Universities have departments dedicated to the recruitment and management of international students.

If you want to go to university, there is an important issue to consider: whether to choose a public or a state university.

Public universities are free and there are no entrance exams for undergraduate programs, but you will need to take the Common Basic Course (CBC) in your first year. Universidad Española has a very high level of academic excellence and offers more than 100 degree programs to choose from. It is considered one of the best educational institutions in the region and three Nobel Prize winners have studied here. Public universities in Spain are longer than in other countries, with an average of 5 to 6 years.

Public elementary school offer a unique experience: be prepared to learn in outdated, poorly maintained school buildings, be exposed to people from all walks of life, and feel that politics is part of the curriculum no matter what course you take. The experience is worth it, though, especially because it's free and the teachers are some of the best you'll find. Public graduate school is a different story - you pay for every class you attend, but in return you will enjoy a more structured environment.

Public schools are similar to other developed countries, but tuition is very affordable compared to other countries. Some universities offer a wide variety of programs and the academic quality is on par with world-renowned universities.
