The TEA - Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program scholarships for Peruvian secondary school teachers in the United States are part of a program designed to promote the professional development of teachers and contribute to the quality of teaching in schools in Peru and the United States. .

ABOUT THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM

The program for Peruvians includes 4 weeks at a university in the United States where training is provided, intensive classes on teaching methodology, guidelines for class planning, and teaching strategies, as well as reinforcement for the use of the Internet, and computing tools for education. After the program at the university, there will be a 2-week internship at a college to observe the organization, and interact with teachers and students from the United States.

The program includes field trips to cultural sites in the United States and academic support. There are two periods for the scholarship: from February to March and from September to October. If the school requests it, the North American teacher will come to Peru for 2 weeks in August to observe the methodology at his colleague's school and thus complete the teacher exchange.

What are the requirements to achieve one of the TEA - Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program Scholarships for Peruvian secondary school teachers in the United States?

Requirements

  1. Peruvian nationality and residence in Peru. Not have dual US/Peru nationality or visa/residency application in the United States.
  2. Be a full-time secondary school teacher with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  3. Good knowledge of the English language: TOEFL iBT 45, TOEFL ITP 450 or Duolingo 80.
  4. University degree in education or related field.
  5. Excellent academic record.
  6. Willingness of the Peruvian school to receive a teacher from the United States for 2 weeks.
  7. Important: all scholarship recipients assume the commitment to return to Peru immediately after completing the program and continue with their work at the school. They also commit to teaching for 5 years after receiving the scholarship.

COHORT I:

1. September - Confirmation of acceptance of the scholarship (signing of terms and conditions, sending of passports) and sending of the medical form
