Woodrow Wilson Scholarship to stay in the United States

Through an international competition, the Woodrow Wilson center offers a stay for nine (9) months in the United States.

This call extends the invitation to participate to both men and women. Likewise, professional areas of interest are academia, business, government, journalism, law and other professions.

The purpose of this call is for you to have the opportunity to research, write and develop ideas in your areas of interest. This, while interacting with policymakers in Washington, Wilson Center staff, and other resident scholars.

The Woodrow Wilson International Scholars Center was created in 1968, and aims to bridge the world of ideas to policy by supporting preeminent scholarship.

Who is eligible to participate?

They may apply:

• Citizens or permanent residents of any country. However, international applicants must have a valid passport. And also, the possibility of obtaining a J-1 visa, which is the student visa.
• At the level of postdoctoral studies, and who have published a book or monograph after their doctoral dissertation.
• That they master the English language.

They will not be accepted to participate in the program:

• Those who are doing degree work.

They will also not be viable:

• Research in natural sciences.
• Projects focused on musical composition and/or dance; nor in visual arts.
• Development of textbooks, anthologies, translations and memoirs.

How to take part?

Applications will be made online on the official website of the call.

In this sense, it will be necessary to include the following documents:

• The scholarship application form.
• An updated Curriculum Vitae of maximum three (3) pages.
• A list of publications including exact titles, editor names, publication dates, and status of upcoming publications. In this case, the document cannot exceed three (3) pages.
• A project proposal not to exceed five (5) pages.
• Bibliography to carry out the project that includes primary sources and relevant secondary sources.
• Two (2) letters of reference.
• Among others.

Benefits

Each member of the program is assigned a furnished office in downtown Washington, D.C, United States. Additionally, she will have access to conference rooms, a reference library and a dining room.

The scholarship also includes:

A stipend of USD 90,000 for nine (9) months.
